COUNTRY CLASSIC CLOGGERS
History
The Country Classic Cloggers have been together since 1984 originally under the direction of Sheila Bellamy. Becky Duchemin took over the group in 1987 and eventually moved to Powder Springs from Hiram, GA. Lisa Buck, Becky's daughter, started teaching in 1991 to help with the advanced classes. Jeannie Mobley has been with the group since 1989 and assists with teaching and runs all the music for class and shows.
Performances
We have performed many different places. We danced for Al Gore in 1988 when he ran for the Democratic nomination of President of the United States. Max Cleland invited us to his house to perform for his birthday. We perform at many local events including Big Shanty Days, Jonquil Festival, North GA State Fair, Powder Springs Day, Paulding Meadows, and Hunt's Meadows, and The Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC. We also dance every year at the North GA Mountain Fair in Hiawassee, GA and the Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain. We love to perform and let the dancers show off what they have learned.
